Heathside Walton

It was great to join the team at Heathside Walton to mark the official opening of the school last week. John has spent most of his career working in education, so ensuring our children have access to the very best education is absolutely at the top of our priorities for our area. It was fantastic to see the new, state-of-the-art facilities on offer at Heathside Walton – there’s no silver bullet to spreading opportunity and creating a fairer society, but education is about as close as you get.

Heathside Walton is all part of a wider improvement - when Conservatives went into government, 69% of schools in our area were ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’. Now, that figure is 93%. Alongside two new free schools, Walton Heathside and Cobham Free School, we also have the Three Rivers Academy in Hersham.

We have to keep this progress going and get even more investment in our local schools. 100% of our schools need to be ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’, which is all part of our plan here.
